What is Pretrial Services?

Pretrial Services (PTS) is a community-based supervision program. It is an alternative to jail or posting bond.  A judge decides if a defendant is eligible for PTS. The judge enters the Order Setting Conditions of Release either at arraignment or at some later stage of the pending case. The Conditions of Release may include services the defendant must participate in. These services could be: drug or alcohol testing, GPS, Soberlink, or mental health counseling.

Defendants must check-in with the pretrial office.  It can range from two times a week to once a month. Check-ins help the defendant to comply with court-ordered conditions of release and appearing for court dates.
